Offshore Energy

The Department of Interior (DOI), through the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM), oversees offshore energy development in the United States. The Clearinghouse leads DOD interactions with BOEM for offshore energy compatibility and coordinates at every stage of planning, permitting, and development throughout the Atlantic, Pacific, and Gulf of Mexico. The efforts of the Clearinghouse, BOEM, and states create plans that support offshore energy development while safeguarding military missions.
